AUSTRALIA'S NATIONAL
UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS' MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
CHALLENGE

The International Advertising Association (IAA) is the world’s most influential network of marketing professionals. Established in 1938, the International Advertising Association is the only global association that represents all spheres of the marketing and communications industry. For over 80 years the IAA has played a strong role in supporting key industry issues such as freedom of commercial speech, self-regulation, responsible advertising, education and professional development.

The IAA is committed to be the Global Compass of the marketing communications industry, dedicated to pointing the industry toward the high ground of brand loyalty and high brand valuation. This is underpinned by marketing communications that enhance the lives of consumers and is fuelled by the power of creativity.

We are a unique network of marketers, advertising agencies, media, tech-companies and educators who are constantly and responsibly evaluating what is new and evolving, while remaining rooted to our core belief that “what’s good, is good for business”.

A key pillar of our vision is professional development, in support of education institutions such as yours.

Through the IAA BIG IDEA national students' marketing communications competition we continue to demonstrate leadership in the development of tomorrow’s generation of industry leaders. Many past IAA BIG IDEA participants are now in senior positions in Australia’s leading brand marketing and communication companies.

The IAA Big Idea Competition was an incredible experience, and allowed me to feel confident heading into the professional industry... The process of going from small ideas and mind maps to a full and complex big idea, marketing plan and creative executions was extremely rewarding and reignited my passion for marketing communications. I have made countless and unforgettable memories whilst working through this competition, and would recommend for students to really push themselves and to test their skills by competing in the IAA Big Idea Competition.
— Dempsey Ward, former student, University of Canberra, ACT
The learning experience students gained from working on the IAA Big Idea project is absolutely invaluable. From meeting tight deadlines, working through group challenges, bringing their concepts to life and to presenting their winning ideas to the judging panel has been awe inspiring to watch! The IAA big idea has motivated students, who are raring to start their journey in the marketing communications industry!
